About Mr Connelly

Mr Connelly came to us after being involved in a car accident and rushed to the vets. He almost didn’t make it, but thanks to the efforts of the team at Highfield vets, he pulled through!

Sadly no one came to claim him so he came to stay with us for the remainder of his recovery.

While the vets had him, they xrayd him an found that he had extra boney growths on the backs of his legs. Unfortunately this is a condition that is common with his breed (Scottish Fold), along with arthritis and abnormal bone and cartilage development. This condition is very painful and often, Scottish folds are said to be docile, placid and lazy, as they don’t move much – the truth is, they are just in pain and it’s more comfortable to stay sedentary.

Because of this condition, Mr Connelly is on pain relief meds to manage any discomfort and is doing well. He enjoys affection and following us around (especially if his favourite kibbles are on hand!). He is a friendly chap, but gives you “the look” if you’re doing something he isn’t enjoying.

We think he will make a lovely companion for someone and may be able to live with other animals as long as introductions are done properly.

Mr C will need a special owner, someone who understands the breed and can look out for the warning signs of discomfort and pain and act quickly to ensure this is addressed. The shelter can potentially support with costs of medicine if this may be a barrier to adoption.
