Recovery Tails – Day 6 – Dennis
December 11, 2024

Dennis was brought to our vets after he was found with a bulging eye – likely injured in either a fight or car accident. Unfortunately, his eye needed to come out, but with no chip or owner to be found, the vets contacted our shelter.

We shared him on lost and found, but didn’t have any luck.
Dennis desperately needed the op, so his eye was removed. The vets also found he had a chipped canine tooth too, so that was removed at the same time.

Dennis came back to the Shelter to recuperate and we gave him plenty of TLC while he recovered. A big softy, Dennis adored being fussed over and was a big fan of his food too!
While he was with us recovering, we did a little more digging and miraculously found his owner, or rather, she found us!

It turned out that Dennis had belonged to an older person who had passed away not long before.
A neighbour had taken over Dennis’ care shortly after and had even booked him into the vets for neuter and chip, but he absconded a few days before. He had been on the loose for a few weeks before his accident, so his owner was elated to find out he was ok and that they could be reunited. Dennis is now back with his adopted family and is loved to bits.

If it weren’t for our kind supporters we couldn’t have helped Dennis and cats like him, receive the urgent care and treatment they need to survive.

Overall, Dennis’ treatment cost £1372 in vet bills!

Recovery Tails Christmas Campaign

This Christmas, please help to raise £10,000 to help us care for and heal cats like Dennis and keep this crucial work going. Your support will help to pay for vet treatment, special foods and medication for all the cats and kittens who arrive in the Shelter sick and in need of a warm bed this winter.
