Recovery Tails – Day 7 – Lottie
December 13, 2024

Lottie came to us from the local Sheffield dog kennels, but before that she had lived in a home with her owner. When her owner passed away, the council were involved and she was placed in kennels. This place was not suitable for cats, the staff got in touch to ask if we could help. We couldn’t bear the thought of her sat in a kennel on her own, surrounded by barking dogs, so we endeavoured to make space for her to come to our Shelter.

Lottie was dropped in to us a few days later and we instantly fell in love. She was super friendly and affectionate. She was so happy to have a warm room, comfy bed and some nice food. We could tell she probably hadn’t had the best care beforehand as she was underweight, her skin was very scabby due to a bad flea infestation and she needed dental work.

Lottie was booked in with our vets to have some bloods done. Due to her age and the anaesthetic required for the dental work, we need to check her bloods to make sure she was safe to be anaesthetised. When we got the all clear, we booked her in for dentistry. Once this was done, she ate much more comfortably and seemed much perkier.

We began the search for a new home for Lottie and she was snapped up!  Lottie is now much healthier and super fluffy! She honestly looks like a different cat and we couldn’t be happier.

In total, Lottie’s treatment and recovery cost us £691, all thanks to the donations from our supporters.

Recovery Tails Christmas Campaign

This Christmas, please help to raise £10,000 to help us care for and heal cats like Lottie and keep this crucial work going. Your support will help to pay for vet treatment, special foods and medication for all the cats and kittens who arrive in the Shelter sick and in need of a warm bed this winter.
