About Us

The Sheffield Cats Shelter has been helping cats and cat owners since 1897 – making us one of the UK’s oldest surviving animal charities. We help around three hundred cats and kittens find new homes and better lives each year, and we couldn’t do it without a high performing team of staff and volunteers.

As a small independent charity we rely solely upon money from our three charity shops, from legacies, and from online and traditional fundraising. For that reason successful fundraising and communication is essential to all we do today and in the future.

Not the right role for you? Consider volunteering!

Our mission to help cats in Sheffield thrives on the support of dedicated volunteers. If you don’t see a job that fits but still want to make a difference, explore our volunteer opportunities. From cat care to admin support, there’s a way for everyone to contribute.

Discover how you can volunteer and help create happy, healthy homes for cats in need.
