The government have announced plans to introduce a new criminal offence of ‘Pet Abduction’. Whilst this is good news, it should in fact be called ‘dog abduction’ as the offence will only cover the theft of dogs.
We don’t think that’s fair! The number of cat abductions is on the rise, and the impact on cats and their owners is just as great as it is in cases of dogs being abducted. That’s why we’re fully behind a petition raised by Cats Protection to include cats in the new bill that’s being proposed.
